Literacy & Numeracy Help for People learning English
English developed from a number of languages over time. It continues to evolve as new words and technologies are born. People learning English can find its inconsistent rules and ever-expanding repertoire challenging.
ALNS does not teach English as a Second or Additional Language. Those skills require a different mentoring appraoch. That said… Fran does help people who are reasonably fluent in English in the following ways:
- reading
- writing
- conversational skills
- pronunciation
- building vocabulary
- understanding and using Aussie customs & expressions
- spelling
- hand-writing
- numeracy and the language of maths
- performing everyday tasks like using machines; reading signs; completing forms
- vocational English (see Business L&N)
