Do you need to learn how to use a computer, your phone, a tablet, an app or device? ALNS can help you build computer/digital literacy skills – from logging on and learning commands, to spelling, typing and using email.

ALNS helps people build digital, computer and technological literacy in the following ways:
- basic computer use (logging on, creating accounts, etc)
- using devices (phones, tablets, etc)
- using email
- using other technology (e.g. ticketing machines, digital equipment, gauges)
- finding, loading and using apps
- word processing in Microsoft [MS] Word
- spreadsheet and analysing skills in MS Excel
- developing presentations in MS Powerpoint
- developing & maintaining databases
- developing & maintaining websites in WordPress
- developing electronic templates & standard forms
- creating digital filing systems, back-ups, etc
Digital literacy can involve workplace equipment – e.g. electronic surveying or tracking systems; stock control, point of sale or measuring devices; calculators. Some students need to learn or set things up from scratch. Others want to master a certain function only.  Everyone has specific learning needs and goals. ALNS explore these things with you to ensure you learn effectively.
Computer/Digital literacy sessions require learners to bring their own device and activate their own hotspot. Fran has a tablet to show you how to do things. Access to a library or workplace computer may be required.
